Digital gift-card services provider Buyatab has announced a rebrand of its annual gathering. Buyatab Beyond, formerly the Buyatab Summit, will be held in Montreal on June 17-19, gathering together those in the online gift-card space for education sessions, networking and more. This is the fourth year the organization has held a partner summit, and the repositioning of the event reflects its strong growth.
 
"We wanted a name that was catchy and representative of the industry position we are in," said Matias Marquez, founder and CEO of Buyatab. "Our goal with the summit is to provide attendees with information about the future of gift cards and to share new Buyatab features and insights within the company. We also want to go beyond that and look at digital gift cards on a macro-level, and educate attendees on how it impacts neighboring industries."
 
Marquez says attendees can expect engaging speaker sessions, with a greater emphasis this year on networking and relationship building. As in previous gatherings, attendees can expect social events that leverage local attractions.
 
"It's a great opportunity to network with peers in the industry," says Marquez. "We're lucky to have leading partners in the retail, hospitality and entertainment space so attendees can expect to make a lot of diverse connections."
 
Buyatab also uses the event as a chance to promote its own offerings, sharing new products or examining certain products more closely.
 
Marquez points out that digital gift-card sales have more than double in the past three years, and the company will share key trends that have attributed to this amount of growth. The Buyatab team has also taken in account that brands are becoming more involved in the data that drives their programs. Further details about the content and education will be shared in the coming months.
 
"In our line of work, we spend most of our time connecting through phone calls or emails - we don't really get that face-to-face time that is so valuable in maintaining long-term relationships," notes Marquez. "Buyatab Beyond acts as an annual touchpoint that encourages face-to-face connection and collaboration not only on a professional level, but on a personal one as well."
