A number of new developments in the Florida Keys are reinvigorating the destination, which took a big hit from Hurricane Irma in 2017. Following is a roundup of the most recent property openings and refurbishments:

The 24-acre, 199-room Isla Bella Beach Resort will open this spring at Seven Mile Bridge in Florida's Middle Keys. Amenities include a 4,000-square-foot spa, a fitness center, five pools and, on the oceanfront, a restaurant, a bar, a burger spot and a café with shopping. The resort offers 24,000 square feet of meeting space. Outdoors, guests can play bocce, croquet and oversized chess; relax by the fire pits; ride complimentary bicycles; engage in watersports, and take guided fishing expeditions.

On Key Largo, the 200-room, 13-acre Baker's Cay Resort, a Curio Collection by Hilton property, has debuted. On-site are 12 meeting venues, two bars and a restaurant, and numerous watersports are available. Also opening on Key Largo last year was the all-inclusive, adults-only Bungalows Key Largo. This 12-acre, 135-unit property features a spa, two pools, a fitness Tiki hut, three piers, four eateries, and 4,000 feet of indoor and outdoor event space.

On Islamorada, the 25-acre oceanfront Islander Resort reopened in December 2018 with refurbished cottage-style units and screened-in lanais. The property features 138 guest rooms and 25 two-story, two-bedroom bayside townhome units. The resort has a new 6,000-square-foot Great Lawn, 110,000 square feet of beachfront event space, on-site snorkeling trips, sunset sails, two pools and the Tides Beachside Bar & Grill. Opening in April is the Elements Lounge & Restaurant.

The 60-acre Hawks Cay Resort on Duck Key unveiled its $50 million renovation in 2018. The resort has 250 two- and three-bedroom villas and 177 guest rooms, along with 20,000 square feet of meeting space. Guests can enjoy activities such as sunrise yoga, swimming with resident bottlenose dolphins, fishing excursions and sunset cruises. Dining venues include the Angler and Ale restaurant, Sixty-One Prime and Hawks Cay Marketplace.

On Key West, the five-acre, 148-room Parrot Key Hotel & Villas has completed a $25 million renovation. The property offers four pools, watersports and the Grove Kitchen & Bar.
