Nikon COOLPIX S51c September 14, 2007 A new digital point-and-shoot that emails photos from anywhere
By Leo Jakobson
There have been a number of digital cameras that can transfer pictures to your computer or even email them directly via WiFi in the past year or so, but Nikon's new COOLPIX S51c takes that feature to the next level.
That is because Nikon has partnered with wireless phone and Internet service provider T-Mobile, offering S51c owners six months of free access to T-Mobile's networks of 8,500 wireless hotspots nationwide—meaning you can use that WiFi tool to send and save images without going home first. Nikon also allows S51c owners to use its photo sharing and storage service, my Picturetown, to save images to a computer, upload them to the Web or send them to a Blackberry.
The COOLPIX S51c is an 8.1 megapixel digital camera with a 3x zoom, optical image stabilization and a bright, 3-inch high resolution screen. It retails for of $329.95.
