Central Florida's Chambers of Commerce Bolster Training November 03, 2009
Workforce Central Florida (WCF) awarded nine Central Florida chambers of commerce with $5,000 grants, funded by stimulus funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, to develop and deliver a WCF joint training seminar.
Under the agreement, each chamber will target its organization's members and present a no-cost, one and a half-hour workshop by December 15. Workshops will cover topics such as: Preparing for the Brain Drain: Succession and Retention Strategies; Bridging the Generation Gap: Solutions for Today's Professional; the Challenges of HR Management in Today's Work Environment; Hire Hard, Manage Easy, and Retain Talent; Training and Securing Today's Youth; and, 64 Ways to Motivate, Retain, and Acquire Quality People.
Grant recipients include: Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce; Lake Eustis Area Chamber of Commerce; Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce; Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce; St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce; Sumter County Chamber of Commerce; Tavares Chamber of Commerce; West Orange Chamber of Commerce; and, Winter Park Chamber of Commerce.
