Gift Cards Honor Heroes

SVM partners with Soldiers' Angels for "Tank Support" program
By Jeanie Casison

One company is taking a unique approach to saluting the veterans of the United States Armed Forces. SVM, a leading gift card company in Chicago has teamed up with the non-profit organization Soldiers' Angels for "Tank Support," a promising new initiative that provides gasoline gift cards to those members of the military who have served overseas.

"Soldiers' Angels developed the idea to help our veterans. They made SVM aware of the program because they were referring individuals visiting their website to the SVM website to purchase the gasoline gift cards. We discussed the program internally and our CEO Marshall Reavis decided to get more involved by building a Soldiers' Angel Tank Support Program web page on our website in order to provide free shipping and donate $1 per order for every order placed through the site," says Pamela Gerhardt, senior director of marketing for SVM.

Individuals can go to the designated SVM web page to purchase as many $10 gift cards as they wish. Afterwards, an email confirming the order is sent, and a letter with their name accompanies the gift cards to Soldiers' Angels. The organization then distributes the cards to veterans in need across the country.

The Tank Support program will continue indefinitely, and SVM will make a contribution of up to $10,000 in gasoline gift card value to Soldiers' Angels.

More information about Tank Support is available on www.svmcards.net/TankSupport.
