Hyatt Regency Miami Goes Green
July 09, 2008
State agency gives stamp of approval
By Jeanie Casison

New $20 million renovations aren't the only positive developments happening at the Hyatt Regency Miami. Incentive planners interested in reducing their carbon footprint will be happy to know the 612-room was recently added as a member of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Green Lodging Program.

"Now more than ever, people are considering ecological impact before booking meetings, events and accommodations," says Luis Aloma, general manager of the Hyatt Regency Miami. "We are pleased and proud that we now provide outstanding service in an environmentally friendly setting."

Achieving member status in the Florida Department of Environmental Green Lodging Program is no easy feat. Prospective member organizations must adhere to strict guidelines including practicing water conservation, recycling and energy efficiency, as well as using green cleaners, high efficiency air filters and clean air handler units.

Groups staying at the Hyatt Regency Miami will also benefit from attractive additions such as a remodeled fitness center and guestroom amenities including the Hyatt Grand Bed, floor-to-ceiling windows with city views, among others.
