Peabody's Events Get Some "Spirit" June 04, 2008 The Peabody Memphis partners with Jack Daniel's to offer Tennessee whiskey-themed banquet bars

Planners that want to incorporate a taste of Tennessee as part of their incentive program can do so at The Peabody Memphis, which is offering a special Jack Daniel's banquet bar for meetings and events in celebration of the 75th Anniversary of The Peabody Ducks—a legendary tradition that began when the general manager had a few too many sips of whiskey back in 1933 and slipped live ducks into the lobby fountain. Today, the tradition continues with resident ducks making their twice-daily marches to the delight of hotel guests.
An authentic addition to any event, the themed banquet bar boasts two whiskey barrels from the Jack Daniel's Distillery, a six-foot state of Jack Daniel, logo-emblazoned mirrors and beverage napkins and trivia cards, along with a selection of whiskeys including Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 Black Label, Gentleman Jack and the Jack Daniel's Single Barrel specially created for The Peabody Memphis.
"The Jack Daniel's banquet bar is unique and meaningful as it correlates to the history of the hotel and provides a sense of place," says Craig Smith, director of sales and marketing for The Peabody Memphis.
Other great reasons to consider The Peabody Memphis for incentive groups are that it is a Mobile Four-Star, AAA Four-Diamond property, which recently underwent a $45 million restoration, and it offers a convenient location near such popular points of interest as the Memphis Rock and Soul Museum, Graceland, Memphis Zoo and the National Civil Rights Museum.
