IMEX Adds "Meetings Under the Microscope" Program March 12, 2009 The Frankfurt-based incentive and meetings show adds an international approach to the need to defend meetings and incentive travel
By Leo Jakobson
In response to recent criticism of the corporate meetings and incentive business, IMEX: The Essential Worldwide Exhibition for Incentive Travel, Meetings and Events has partnered with the Joint Meetings Industry Council to hold several educational events before and during the show, which takes place on May 26-28 in Frankfurt, Germany.
In April, IMEX will host a free Webinar featuring senior decision makers from the biggest companies, associations and agencies globally to share their views on the future of the meetings market, and report on how their businesses have had to react, as well as the consequences of those reactions.
At IMEX itself, this will be the topic of two major educational forums, the existing Politicians’ Forum and the new Meetings Under the Microscope session. The former will provide the industry the opportunity to make the case in favor of incentive and meetings, while the latter will highlight the profit-boosting, morale-enhancing and efficiency-generating spin-offs of meetings and incentive travel, and seek to ensure that these issues gain their rightful, long-term place at the boardroom table.
More details of these initiatives will be available in coming weeks on IMEX's Web site, www.imex-frankfurt.com
