Cruises Serves Up Seven Special 2010 Wine & Food Sailings

Inspire your incentive participants through their stomachs. Give them the opportunity to savor top-notch culinary experiences from some of the finest star-studded chefs, sommeliers and spirits experts around, who are on board for Crystal Cruises’ 14th annual Wine & Food Experiences of Discovery sailings in 2010.
The cruise line has seven special itineraries lined up, where in addition to exploring destinations, passengers can participate in cooking demos and lectures, tastings and pairings, and cocktail- and pastry-making classes with:
• Michelin Star-awarded chefs including the Bay Area’s Michael Mina, Heinz Beck from La Pergola in Rome, and London’s Tom Aikens; • chef Andre Soltner from New York’s legendary Lutece; • cookbook authors Aglaia Kremezi (Greek cuisine) and Paula Wolfert (Mediterranean cuisine); • Doug Frost, one of only three individuals worldwide to achieve both master sommelier and master of wine; • Robert Bath, one of only 79 master sommeliers in the United States; • wine experts from France, Spain, New Zealand, and Italy; • Audrey Saunders, owner of New York’s Pegu Club and celebrated bartender at Bemelmans Bar in the Carlyle Hotel; and • Julio Bermejo, the famed tequila expert from Tommy’s in San Francisco. (Note: I’ve been to Tommy’s and shared tequila with Julio—you won’t be disappointed with your education on this often misused and misunderstood spirit.)

In addition to the designated Wine & Food themed cruises, the luxury line’s annual President’s Cruise—sailing May 3, 2010 from Piraeus to Dubai—will feature former White House chef John Hanny. Hosted by Crystal president Gregg Michel, Hanny will present presidential-themed dinners and White House favorites from several administrations.

March 30, Auckland to Sydney; April 29, London to Rome; May 25, Venice to Barcelona; September 5, Istanbul to Barcelona; September 17, Barcelona to Venice; November 22, roundtrip Lisbon; and December 12, roundtrip Los Angeles, Mexican Rivera
