PPAI Accepting Scholarship Applications February 03, 2010 PPAI’s Education Foundation to Award $100K in 2010 College Scholarships

Everyone could use a little help with skyrocketing college tuition these days. The Promotional Products Education Foundation (PPEF) recognizes this and has announced that it will award $100,000 worth of college scholarships this year for qualifying individuals in the promotional products industry or their dependents.
Applications must be submitted by March 15, 2010. Winners of the scholarships will be announced in May. Scholarship applications and guidelines can be found at www.ppef.us.
Five types of awards are available:
Four-Year College Scholarship for Academic Excellence and Achievement ($4,000, awarded $1,000 annually for four years)
Promotional products industry employees or their dependents entering a four-year accredited college or university as a freshman in the fall of 2010 are eligible. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to apply. Scholarships are renewable for the four years of college, provided that the student meets the minimum GPA requirement and the student or parent maintains employment in the promotional products industry.
Chairman’s College Scholarship ($5,000, awarded $2,500 annually for two years)
Available to promotional products industry employees or their dependents entering their junior year of college, actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an academic field related to promotional products and expressing a clear intent to enter the promotional products industry after graduation. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to apply. Scholarships are renewable for the senior year of college, provided that the student meets the minimum GPA requirement and the student or parent maintains employment in the promotional products industry.
One-Year College Scholarship ($1,000)
Promotional products industry employees or their dependents attending a two-year or four-year accredited undergraduate college or university are eligible. Students must take at least six credit hours per semester and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to apply.
Vincent J. Arena Scholarship ($1,000)
This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student who meets all requirements for the One-Year Scholarships.
Friends of PPMN Scholarship ($1,000)
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time promotional products industry employee for undergraduate or graduate level coursework at an accredited college or university.

PPEF is part of the Promotional Products Association International (PPAI), based in Irving, TX, and was founded to recognize and encourage scholastic ability and academic performance among promotional products industry employees and their dependents. Since its inception in 1989, PPEF has awarded approximately $742,000 in financial assistance.
