CVS/pharmacy is getting personal with the launch of a line of interactive online gift cards. The company announced Thursday that it would begin offering virtual gift cards, which can be personalized online, and e-mailed to recipients. The cards are good at any of the more than 6,900 CVS or Longs Drugs stores nationwide.
Shoppers interested in giving the gift cards can visit www.cvs.com/giftcards where they can select from various colors and fonts, adding their own photos or messages before selecting the card value.
The card is then e-mailed to the recipient, who can then print the card and bring it to the store on their next visit. The cards can also be pre-set to arrive on birthdays and other special occasions. The company emphasizes the quality and practicality of the gifts.
“Our new virtual gift cards are an ideal choice for shoppers who want to add a personal touch to a popular gift option,” said Mike Bloom, senior vice president of merchandising for CVS/pharmacy, in a statement. “We are pleased to offer this new feature on CVS.com to make gift giving even more convenient"
With a printed version of the gift card, recipients can purchase goods such as health and beauty products, snacks, photo items, and prescriptions at their local CVS/pharmacy or Longs Drug store.
