When it opened on the Las Vegas Strip in 2008, The Palazzo was designed to capture the old world charm of Italy. Ten years later, however, a dramatic refresh and renovation have made the property feel more new than old, according to owner Las Vegas Sands Corp., which announced the property's updates this week.

Part of The Venetian Resort Las Vegas -- which also includes the adjoining Venetian Resort and Casino and the Sands Convention Center -- The Palazzo boasts 2,872 guest suites and access to more than 2.3 million square feet of meeting space. As part of the renovation, the former have been updated with a "lighter and brighter" interior design that includes new environmentally-friendly wall coverings, flooring, lighting and finishes.

Other updates include the addition of: Electra Cocktail Club, a 127-seat cocktail bar on the casino floor whose centerpiece is a massive digital display featuring original art in 70 million pixels and more than a billion colors; the first U.S. location of Hong Kong-based Mott 32, a Chinese restaurant opening in December with fresh daily dim sum and a mix of Cantonese and Szechuan fine-dining practices; and Prestige at The Palazzo, a new luxury offering that gives premium guests access to exclusive amenities and services, like private check-in with a glass of Prosecco.

Finally, the casino floor also has received a facelift; new highlights include an overhead electric ribbon of color that creates a wave of light through the casino and new marble pathways with Italian-inspired patterns and medallions.

"Visitors returning to The Palazzo will find a noticeable difference in the energy level of the resort," said George Markantonis, president and COO of The Venetian, The Palazzo and Sands Expo. "A culmination of nearly two years of work, we have touched nearly every aspect of the guest experience at The Palazzo. Beginning with the casino, which has been reimagined from floor to ceiling, and continuing to the resort's refreshed suites, The Palazzo provides a fresh approach to Las Vegas luxury."
