Rossi Ralenkotter, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), has been appointed to the board of directors of Brand USA, the official destination marketing organization of the United States, LVCVA announced yesterday.
Brand USA's 11-member board is appointed by the Secretary of Commerce and represents all regions of the United States, with members having expertise and experience in specific sectors of the travel and tourism industry.
"Rossi Ralenkotter is one of our industry's most respected and successful leaders, and we are thrilled he is a new member of the Brand USA board of directors," said Christopher L. Thompson, president and CEO of Brand USA. "He has been strong in his support and was instrumental in the passage of the Travel Promotion Act, which brought Brand USA into existence, and his leadership will undoubtedly be influential in shaping Brand USA's success in the months and years ahead."
Ralenkotter has worked in the travel and tourism industry for more than 40 years. A past board chair of the U.S. Travel Association, Ralenkotter began his career at the LVCVA as a research analyst, ultimately ascending to the role of president and CEO in 2004.
"It is an honor to serve on the board for Brand USA," Ralenkotter said. "International visitors have a great impact on the economy and help support hundreds of thousands of jobs nationwide. I look forward to the opportunity of working with the other board members to continue to promote the importance of the travel and tourism industry."
