The Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel in Chicago's Loop has commenced the second phase of a multi-million dollar renovation, it announced recently.

Scheduled for completion in March 2016, improvements include the addition of a new 3,000-square-foot ballroom with views of the Chicago River, 4,000 square feet of new meeting space, and a new indoor/outdoor bar that will feature fire pits, 14 taps serving local beer, and a private event space.

Additionally, the hotel plans to revamp its existing junior ballroom, which will be expanded from 4,000 to 5,000 square feet.

Completed last spring, the renovation's first phase included a $24 million lobby and guest room transformation.
