The Pelican Grand Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale has unveiled a new, 1,400-square-foot meeting and event venue as part of a larger expansion project that will more than double the property's meeting and event space when it wraps up next month.

The Atlantic Ballroom, which can take up to 60 people classroom-style, sits directly below the 1,733-square-foot Atlantic Terrace, which is scheduled to open on June 1. It can host up to 100 for a reception. Both offer incredible ocean views and are just a few steps from the resort's 500 feet of beach frontage.

"We have poured a lot of energy and planning into the transformation of Pelican Grand Beach Resort," says Bob Keesler, general manager of Pelican Grand Beach Resort. "We provide the highest level of customization and flexibility to each guest and every group, allowing us to exceed guests expectations and add to their memories."

Another new meeting space coming to the 156-room oceanfront resort is the 2,055-square-foot Ocean View Ballroom, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto a balcony. The 11th floor meeting facility can accommodate up to 100, theater-style, and will be topped by another outdoor space, the 3,700-square-foot Ocean View Terrace and Gazebo, which faces south down the beach. This space will accommodate receptions of up to 150 when it opens on June 1.

Also on the 12th floor, a new penthouse suite offers a number of entertainment possibilities. It has panoramic views, an eight-person dining room, a 75-foot terrace, and a private elevator.

Finally, the resort is opening a new, environmentally friendly, Swedish-themed PURE Spa, with three indoor treatment rooms and two outdoor ones. Located on the roof and overlooking the ocean, it has an outdoor relaxation space.
