Westgate Resorts has broken ground on a new retail development at Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa in Orlando, it announced this week.

The $11 million development, known as Westgate Lakes Retail Village, will include a high-end steak restaurant, a sports bar and grill, retail shops, a grocery store, a game room, a two-lane bowling alley, a 450-space parking garage, and 32,000 square feet of banquet and meeting space.

"We're excited about bringing high-quality entertainment, dining, and meeting options to our Westgate guests and Central Florida visitors," Westgate Resorts Founder and CEO David Siegel said in a statement. "The Westgate Lakes Retail Village also will create many new jobs and contribute to the economic development of Central Florida."

The Westgate Lakes Retail Village will be completed by the end of 2015.
