Marriott International has opened a new dual-branded hotel at the L.A. Live entertainment complex in downtown Los Angeles, it announced yesterday.

The $170 million hotel, the Courtyard and Residence Inn L.A. Live, includes a 174-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel and a 219-suite Residence Inn hotel, for a total of 393 accommodations. The first branded select-service hotel to open in downtown Los Angeles in 20 years, it also has a fitness center, a business center, an outdoor pool, an onsite restaurant, coin-operated laundry and 4,500 square feet of meeting space for groups of up to 350 people.

"We could not have asked for a better destination to open Marriott's first dual-branded hotel on the west coast," Janis Milham, senior vice president of Modern Essential and Extended Stay brands, Marriott International, said in a statement. "The energetic L.A. vibe can be felt throughout the custom designed hotel. Its unique d├ęcor and layout allows guests to experience all the shared benefits of having two hotels under one roof."
