Marriott International has opened a new dual-branded hotel at the L.A. Live entertainment complex in downtown Los Angeles, it announced yesterday.

The $170 million hotel, the Courtyard and Residence Inn L.A. Live, includes a 174-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel and a 219-suite Residence Inn hotel, for a total of 393 accommodations. The first branded select-service hotel to open in downtown Los Angeles in 20 years, it also has a fitness center, a business center, an outdoor pool, an onsite restaurant, coin-operated laundry and 4,500 square feet of meeting space for groups of up to 350 people.

"We could not have asked for a better destination to open Marriott's first dual-branded hotel on the west coast," Janis Milham, senior vice president of Modern Essential and Extended Stay brands, Marriott International, said in a statement. "The energetic L.A. vibe can be felt throughout the custom designed hotel. Its unique décor and layout allows guests to experience all the shared benefits of having two hotels under one roof."
