Although it's 16 years old, Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino will soon feel brand new thanks to a $100 million remodel encompassing each of its 3,309 guest rooms and suites, owner MGM Resorts International announced yesterday.

Designed by the MGM Resorts International Design Group, the new rooms and suites will feature bright colors and modern furniture, according to the hotel, which describes the updated accommodations as "confident and inviting."

Guests will be able to choose from three redesigned guest room collections:

• Resort Collection: Resort King rooms will be decorated in cobalt and white, while Resort Queen rooms will feature either a ruby/latte or lavender/mocha color scheme. Both will sport an onyx-inspired mural behind the bed, as well as a fully stocked minibar, Keurig coffee machine, flat-screen HDTV, and functional work area.

• Suite Collection: One- and two-bedroom suites will feature jewel-tone fabrics accented by natural wood and stone, with multiple seating and dining areas for business meetings or socializing.

• Luxury Collection: One- to four-bedroom suites will feature upscale décor and amenities, such as floor-to-ceiling windows and dining and bar areas.

Although the remodel won't be complete until spring 2016, select remodeled rooms and suites already are available for stays this month.
