A new, approximately 5,000-seat theater is coming to Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, where it will give venues with major entertainment headliners, such as Caesars Palace, a run for their money.

Announced today, the new venue will be part of the entertainment district that MGM Resorts International is currently building between Monte Carlo and New York-New York, the anchors of which are a new 20,000-seat arena and "The Park" outdoor dining and shopping area, both of which are scheduled to open in April 2016.

"From Las Vegas to Maryland, Macau to Massachusetts, presenting the biggest and most sought-after names in music, sports, and special events is a core focus for MGM Resorts.  This new theater will enable us to host performers in Las Vegas who we previously haven't had a home for, broadening our entertainment offerings and providing the opportunity to expand those relationships to our properties around the globe," said Bill Hornbuckle, president of MGM Resorts International.

Monte Carlo's new theater -- a unique feature of which will be dynamic seating that can be transformed into multiple configurations -- will welcome its first act at the end of 2016.
