Following its acquisition of the Mandarin Oriental San Francisco Hotel, which has been renamed the Loews Regency San Francisco, Loews Hotels & Resorts has created a new luxury hotel brand, it announced last week: Loews Regency.

Currently consisting of the Loews Regency San Francisco and the existing Loews Regency New York, the new Loews Regency brand will feature three distinct offerings:

• Location: Loews Regency hotels will be "situated in the most sought after locations within a destination," according to Loews.

• Service: Loews Regency hotels will offer "approachable luxury with a personalized style that is warm and engaging," Loews said.

• Energy: Loews Regency hotels will feature "vibrant lobby bars and lounges, as well as a culture that exudes sophisticated, modern, and comfortable touch points," Loews reported.

Additionally, each hotel will have its own Power Breakfast, named for the famed business breakfasts first established in Manhattan at the Loews Regency New York.

"The Loews Regency San Francisco coupled with the iconic Loews Regency New York allows us to develop a new brand that really concentrates on customers looking for an intimate luxury experience," Loews Hotels & Resorts Chairman Jonathan Tisch said in a statement.

Loews now operates three distinct brands: Loews Hotels & Resorts in the upper-upscale category; Loews Regency in the luxury category; and The OE collection, launched earlier this year as a management-based platform to support existing or newly built independent hotels.
