Hard Rock International has announced plans to open its first Texas hotel, Hard Rock Hotel Dallas-Fort Worth, it announced last week.

Opening in January 2018, the hotel will be located in The Grand Alps Village, a new indoor skiing and entertainment complex -- billed as "the most advanced indoor snow facility in the world" -- that's being developed in Grand Prairie, TX. The $400 million hotel, construction on which is scheduled to begin in January, will have 300 guest rooms, a rooftop pool, a spa, a fitness facility, and 50,000 square feet of meeting space.

"We're looking forward to managing the property and introducing our Hard Rock Hotel brand into the thriving Dallas-Fort Worth area," Marco Roca, executive vice president and chief development officer, Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos, said in a statement. "As we look to expand our hotel portfolio, we seek out promising locations and successful partners, and we have achieved that with The Grand Alps development."

Added Sherman Thurston, co-chairman of The Grand Alps Resort Group, "Travelers are seeking new adventures and a reprieve from the usual, which is exactly what Hard Rock offers to its guests. A Hard Rock Hotel is the perfect addition to The Grand Alps Village development."
