Commune Hotels & Resorts, which comprises the Joie de Vivre Hotels, Thompson Hotels, and tommie hotel brands, today unveiled plans for two new-build hotels in Los Angeles, both of which will be located in Hollywood.

The first hotel, Thompson Hollywood at the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Wilcox Avenue, will have 200 guest rooms, two restaurants, a bar, a fitness center, and a penthouse-level outdoor pool. The second hotel, tommie Hollywood, is still in early planning stages but will stand nearby on Cahuenga Boulevard, south of Sunset.

"The resurgence and robust future of Hollywood create a prime opportunity for us to bring the first new-build Thompson hotel to Los Angeles and introduce tommie to the West Coast," Commune Hotels & Resorts CEO Niki Leondakis said in a statement. "The privilege of working closely with our partners in the layout and programming of the two buildings provides the opportunity to genuinely weave the new hotels into the fabric of the neighborhood in each of the brand's distinctive ways."

Commune Hotels & Resorts expects to break ground on both Thompson Hollywood and tommie Hollywood by the end of 2015. The hotels are scheduled to open in 2017.
