A 122-room St. Regis-branded resort will open in Bermuda's historic St. George's district in 2019, according to press reports. The property will be the first to operate a casino under legislation adopted by the Bermuda government in 2014.

The resort is being built on the site of a former Club Med resort that closed in 2008. Plans call for a casino, a ballroom, a terrace for events, 98 condominiums and the refurbishment of an existing 18-hole golf course. Other offerings will include a full-service restaurant, a bar, a wine cellar, a pool bar and grill, a spa and a gym. The resort will be built first, according to developer Desarrollos Hotelco Group; the golf course improvements and addition of the condo units will be completed during a second phase of development.
