The Indian state of Goa -- a former Portuguese colony -- is famous for its beautiful beaches, pulsating nightlife, spicy cuisine, Portuguese colonial architecture and spiritual sanctuaries. Because it already is one of India's most popular tourism destinations, there's no shortage of great hotels at which incentive groups can experience all five. The newest, however, is ITC Grand Goa, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa.

Part of The Luxury Collection, Marriott International's global portfolio of unique luxury properties, the new hotel is a collaboration with Indian hotelier ITC Hotels, which has more than 100 hotels in more than 70 destinations across India.

Located on Arossim beach in Cansaulim, South Goa, the 45-acre resort offers 252 guest rooms with private outdoor spaces that overlook either the Arabian Sea or the resort's lush gardens and lagoons.

Also onsite are six signature restaurants featuring both indigenous and international flavors -- Kebabs & Kurries, for example, showcases traditional Indian styles of cooking while Ottimo is an Italian restaurant -- as well as a 36,000-square-foot spa specializing in Indian wellness treatments. Other highlights include a multi-level outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, a fitness center, yoga classes, and 10 meeting and event spaces -- seven indoors and three outdoors -- the largest of which is the 4,030-square-foot Salcete Ballroom, for groups of up to 350.

"The opening of ITC Grand Goa marks a significant milestone in The Luxury Collection's long-standing relationship with ITC, as our 13th property in India and our first beach resort in South Asia," said Anthony Ingham, global brand leader, The Luxury Collection. "Best known for its alluring beaches, Goa offers a diverse blend of Indian and Portuguese culture, architecture and cuisine, and we are thrilled to unlock this unique destination for global explorers, as only The Luxury Collection can."
