A new partnership between Hilton Worldwide and ridesharing app Uber will make it easier to travel to and around your hotel, the companies announced last week. Intended to streamline the travel experience for Hilton guests, the partnership will leverage Uber to add new digital features to Hilton's HHonors app, through which hotel guests already can book a stay, check in, select their room, pre-order amenities, and gain entry into their room.

In particular, Uber will power two new features for HHonors users. The first, Uber "Ride Reminders," will allow guests to set automated notifications to request Uber rides to and from their hotel. Through the notifications, users can launch Uber with a single tap, at which point the app will automatically give the Uber driver the hotel's address.

The second feature that Uber is bringing to HHonors users is "Local Scene," which will give users in 20 major U.S. cities a list of the top venues frequented by Uber riders in their destination.

Finally, Uber also will offer a $20 discount on their first ride to all Hilton guests who sign up for Uber.

"By partnering with Uber, a leading innovator, we're helping travelers explore destinations like they're locals," said Rich DiStefano, senior director of mobile products at Hilton Worldwide. "This is the first time any company has leveraged Uber riders' most frequented destinations to provide local recommendations. We're excited to offer these unique benefits for our loyal guests."
