The Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real, a new "resort within a resort" is opening next month in the Dominican Republic, courtesy of Spanish hotelier Meliá Hotels International.

Located within Paradisus Palma Real  Meliá's all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana, The Grand Reserve is designed in the shape of a circle to reflect a commitment to "wholeness and perfection." Scheduled to open Dec. 15, the $110 million property will have 432 one- and two-bedroom suites ranging from 800 to over 3,000 square feet -- including a selection of swim-up suites with direct access to an exclusive pool, lush garden areas and a solarium.

Amenities will include seven restaurants and bars -- including a ceviche bar, a steak house, an Asian restaurant and a cigar bar -- as well as a full-service spa, a beach club, a family-friendly kids club and waterpark, and a fitness facility.

Guests also will have access to all the services and amenities at Paradisus Palma Real, which boasts 15 restaurants of its own, as well as a theater, a golf course, five pools, a spa and an 18,000-square-foot convention center.

"We're eager and excited to welcome The Grand Reserve to the Meliá Hotels International family later this year," said Alvaro Tejada, Meliá's senior vice president for the Americas. "With its unique design, superior amenities and new technological advancements, The Grand Reserve is set to radically transform the way travelers experience our hotels in the Dominican Republic."
