Just in time for the 2017/2018 ski season, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has opened its first European ski hotel, in Megève, France, it announced yesterday.

Facing the famed Mont Blanc, the all-new Four Seasons Hotel, Megève has 55 guest rooms at the base of the French Alps' Mont d'Arbois, including 14 one- and two-bedroom suites. Along with a fully equipped fitness center, the area's largest spa, and a teen center with a theater and video games, the hotel boasts a year-round indoor-outdoor pool with lounge seating, a fireplace, and a refreshment counter indoors and a sun terrace outdoors.

The hotel's biggest highlight is its food and beverage: It has a total of five restaurants and lounges, including Chef Julien Gatillon's two Michelin-starred Le 1920 restaurant, which will relocate to the hotel from its current location; a special cigar room designed for savoring fine cigars and spirits; and a cylindrical two-level wine cellar that will be available for private dinners and tastings.

Along with the wine cellar, the property also has a function room designed for board meetings and executive retreats; it seats up to 20 guests for meetings or private dinners, and up to 32 for classroom sessions.

Finally, just beyond the hotel are 136 groomed snow runs for skiing and snowboarding in the winter, as well as the Mont d'Arbois Golf Club for golfing in the summer.

"Megève has been a popular destination for generations of in-the-know skiers and lovers of the outdoors," said General Manager François Arrighi. "Now, with the debut of Four Seasons in the region, holiday makers can look forward to a new level of personally customized service within the contemporary comforts of an all-new hotel."

Four Seasons Hotel Megève will be open each winter between Dec. 15 and April 15, and each summer from June 1 to Sept. 30.
