When it introduced it in 2007, Hyatt Hotels Corp. said its Andaz brand would marry the distinctive style of a boutique hotel with the impeccable service of a luxury property. Over a decade later, that formula seems to be working: There are now 17 Andaz hotels open around the world and many more under development -- including the first-ever Andaz hotel in the Caribbean, Andaz Turks & Caicos at Grace Bay, which is scheduled to open in 2021, Hyatt announced last week.

Located on Grace Bay Beach -- one of the most popular beaches in the Caribbean -- the new hotel will occupy over 5.5 acres of oceanfront property. Comprising two buildings, it will include 59 guest rooms and suites and 74 branded residences. Amenities will include four restaurants and bars, including an elevated venue with unobstructed panoramic views, as well as an indoor wellness facility that will include an outdoor garden yoga studio and a full-service indoor and outdoor spa.

Although it's not yet clear if the property will have meeting and event space, or how much, most Andaz hotels do.

"We are thrilled to announce development plans for the first Andaz branded resort and residences in the Caribbean," said Myles McGourty, senior vice president, Latin America & Caribbean, Hyatt. "We look forward to working with [developer] Vista Development Ltd. to introduce the inspiring concept of this luxury lifestyle Hyatt brand to a world-class destination like Turks & Caicos' coveted Grace Bay."
