Luxury hotelier Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has opened its first property in Morocco, the newly re-flagged Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech, parent company AccorHotels announced yesterday.

Located in the former imperial city of Marrakech, in the center of a century-old olive grove near the Atlas Mountains, the Royal Palm Marrakech originally opened in 2014. It offers 134 guest rooms, including five presidential suites, one penthouse suite, and 10 "Prince Villas," as well as 94 private residences consisting of two-, three-, and four-bedrooms villas.

Also on offer are an 18-hole golf course created by architect Cabell B. Robinson; four restaurant and lounge options, including an international restaurant, a Mediterranean restaurant, a traditional Moroccan restaurant, and a bar with its own cigar lounge; a heated, ozonized swimming pool that is the largest of its kind in Morocco; and a 37,000-square-foot spa with a private area for women.

For meetings and events, there is a 1,345-square-foot conference room for up to 120 people theater-style, a 600-square-foot boardroom for up to 20 people, and a 21,500-square-foot outdoor venue for groups of up to 350 people.
