AVANI Hotels & Resorts is building a new resort on a private island in the Maldives.

The $70 million AVANI Fares Maldives Resort will be built on the 30-acre Fares Island and promises "a soft white sandy beach and every color of blue imaginable."

The 200-room resort will feature amazing Indian Ocean views as well as amenities including an AVANISPA and large swimming pool as well as a specialty restaurant and pool bar.

The open plan lobby will be part of a "communal living space" including the reception area, meeting space, a lounge, and an all day restaurant and The Pantry, AVANI's 24-hour comfort food venue.

An amazing reef-dive site, Ahivahfushi Beyru, is nearby, offering SCUBA divers and snorkelers entree to a community of sealife including Hawksbill Turtles, Reef Sharks and Manta Rays.

"The Maldives is the ultimate beach destination in the world and we are excited to deliver an alternative hospitality offering in the region," says Alejandro Bernabe, group director of AVANI Hotels & Resorts. "The AVANI design philosophy is interestingly relaxed and contemporary and in tune with the environment," of the new resort, he adds.

It is scheduled to open in late 2019.
