Swiss hotelier Kempinski Hotels has joined hotel sales and marketing organization Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI), adding 76 international hotels to ALHI's global portfolio, ALHI announced last week. Although Kempinski is headquartered in Geneva, its hotels are located in 31 countries around the world; 17 are in Western Europe, 13 in Eastern Europe, 26 in Asia, 10 in Africa and 10 in the Middle East.

"ALHI's new Alliance with highly esteemed Kempinski Hotels -- which shares the same strong core values and stellar reputation as ALHI -- perfectly complements our extraordinary hotel and resort membership portfolio in the U.S.," ALHI CEO David Gabri said in a statement. "We are strategically augmenting our portfolio with these outstanding hotels and resorts outside of the U.S. to address the growing demand requiring international luxury-level meeting and incentive venues for their programs from the valued accounts we are privileged to serve."

The 17 Kempinski hotel additions to ALHI's portfolio in Western Europe are located in Austria, Germany, Malta, Spain, and Switzerland. The 13 Eastern Europe hotel additions are situated in Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Lithuania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Turkey. The 10 hotels in the Middle East are located in Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates (UAE). The 26 hotels in Asia are situated in China, India, Indonesia, Mongolia, Myanmar, and Thailand.

ALHI's portfolio now includes more than 250 Four- and Five-Diamond/Star quality hotels and resorts worldwide.
