Employee discount program Workplace Perks announced on Aug. 12 that it is expanding its worker rewards with the launch of Zoomo Travel. The travel-booking program gives employees a way to book airline tickets, hotels, car rentals, and entertainment activities using points earned through the frequent-buyer program.

Workplace Perks provides members with special offers from more than 250 e-commerce stores. Employees of partner organizations that join the program get discounted prices and limited-time deals, earning frequent-shopper points as they do. These points can then be redeemed at the company's PerksPoints store, offering gift cards, jewelry, electronics -- and now, travel.

Retailers offerings special prices through Workplace Perks include a number of incentive industry mainstays, including Restaurant.com, Lands' End, and Omaha Steaks, as well as merchants such as Sketchers, Walgreens, and Sur la Table. Companies that have joined up with Workplace Perks include Nokia, Viacom, and YUM Brands. These and other client organizations' HR departments negotiate available offers with the Workplace Perks representatives, working to provide their workers with the best deals possible as a company incentive.

The Zoomo Travel addition allows workers who are a few points short of the needed goal to cover the difference with a credit card purchase. Zoomo Travel, like Workplace Perks, utilizes an IP geolocation technology developed by its parent company, Meridian Enterprises Corporation, which creates an exclusive, close-channel marketplace. Only approved members, logging on from an approved IP address, are allowed access to the program and must sign in using a unique email address and password to access the perks.

Workplace Perks promises that the addition of Zoomo Travel to its offerings provides "a powerful travel booking engine, more robust than other online travel sites."
