Taking advantage of the global audience that converged in London for the 2012 Summer Olympics, Turkish Airlines has launched an innovative Quick Response Code (QR Code) marketing and promotional campaign.

For the promotion, which runs until August 19, Turkish Airlines fashioned various national country flags into QR Codes and placed them onto digital boards throughout London, creating a sort of scavenger hunt for consumers. To participate in the promotion, consumers must scan a QR code with their smartphones, thereby automatically checking into that flag via Turkish Airlines’ mobile website. The consumer with most check-ins, or the greatest number of individual check-ins, will win a roundtrip ticket to anywhere Turkish Airlines flies. 

Turkish Airlines flies to more than 200 destinations worldwide. For a closer look at some of the digital billboards and QR codes, click here. Turkish Airlines plans to release the number of participants in its promotion in early September.
