Attendees already can use meeting and event apps to register, to check-in, to review speakers and sessions, and even to network with one another. Soon, they might also be able to use them to hail a ride back to their hotel.

That's because ridesharing giant Uber recently unveiled an official "Uber Ride Request Button" that developers can add to iOS and Android apps. Unveiled earlier this month, the button can be added to every address or "intent to ride" within an app, courtesy of a few lines of code. As a result, app users can tap to instantly get a ride to a hotel, restaurant, movie theater, or any other destination they specify.

"This will help you offer a differentiated feature for your users, provide a magical experience for riders, and even earn additional revenue your business," Uber said in a blog post addressed to developers.
