At the upcoming IMEX America trade show, taking place Oct. 14-16 in Las Vegas, approximately three-fourths of all professional education will be accredited, organizer the IMEX Group announced this week.

The fourth annual edition of the meetings industry trade show will have 180 education sessions, according to the IMEX Group. Of those, 76 percent will qualify for continuing education hours for meeting planners who are pursuing or renewing the Convention Industry Council's (CIC) Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) credential.

Along with CIC, IMEX America's education partners include the International Special Events Society (ISES), which will recognize 34 of the show's education sessions for its ISES Core Curriculum, and Meeting Professionals International (MPI), which is offering 43 educations sessions as the show, 81 percent of which are eligible for continuing education credit.

Along with accredited learning, highlights of this year's education program are three new learning tracks: diversity, health and wellbeing, and senior planner.

"Each year we strive to add more value to our education program and we are helped enormously by having so many excellent industry partners who have a great deal of expertise to share," IMEX Group CEO Carina Bauer said in a statement. "This year we concentrated on adding elements for senior planners in particular and on providing a wider variety of learning formats. We've also adapted some of our education areas to increase capacity. Post-show and year-round feedback is incredibly useful in helping us formulate and plan the right tracks so that we deliver the education that people really want to receive, and find most valuable. We hope the industry is as excited about the fourth edition of IMEX America as we are."
