Philip Stewart, former president of a division at Kenexa, has been named chief executive officer of The TharpeRobbins Company
, the company announced on April 28. He will oversee the Statesville, NC-based parent company of incentive and recognition firms TharpeRobbins and Hinda Incentives.
"We are excited to bring someone with such an extensive background in both executive leadership and human resources to lead the team at TharpeRobbins and Hinda," said Pat Harlow, chairman of the board, in a statement. "Phil's roots in human resources make him the ideal person to connect with the needs of our customers in this vibrant and growing industry."
Stewart will guide the growing organization, which expanded significantly in 2012 after acquiring Chicago-based Hinda Incentives, offering a wide range of recognition programs and award types for clients.
Prior to joining with TharpeRobbins, Stewart served for eight years at IBM/Kenexa, first as chief people officer then, since 2007, as president of Kenexa's Recruitment Process Outsourcing business unit. Before that, Stewart worked in human resources roles for manufacturing company Dentsply International and consumer-goods company Sara Lee Corporation. This extensive background in managing people was a major reason for his selection as TharpeRobbins Company CEO.
"Phil has a history of rapidly growing businesses and we are thrilled that he will commit the people and financial resources necessary to support our growth," added Hinda President Mike Donnelly, in a statement.
Stewart himself expressed excitement about the new position.
"I am honored to lead this dynamic team to new levels of success," he said in a statement. "We have the perfect combination of experienced talent, cutting-edge technology and depth of services in all of the industries we support. Our future is so incredibly bright that there is no limit to what we will accomplish together."
