Attendees at this year's IMEX America trade show will have the opportunity to enroll in two of the nation's trusted traveler programs, the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) PreCheck program and U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Global Entry program, the IMEX Group announced
A voluntary program, TSA PreCheck allows eligible fliers who pass a background check in advance of flying to pass more quickly through security checkpoints by utilizing an expedited screening lane that does not require passengers to remove their shoes, belts, coats, laptops, or carry-on toiletries. In a similar way, Global Entry lets international travelers arriving in the United States bypass the traditional CBP inspection lines and use an automated kiosk.
Because both programs require in-person interviews as part of the enrollment process, IMEX America attendees must pre-register for the services prior to the show; enrollment interviews will take place during the event and must be booked in advance.
"We're always looking for fresh ways to add convenience and extra business value to industry professionals' experience of IMEX America in Las Vegas," IMEX Group CEO Carina Bauer said in a statement. "Simply by offering the U.S. Global Entry and TSA interviews during the show, we're going to save some of our exhibitors and attendees valuable time when they next travel within the U.S. or further afield. Given that this is an appointment-led show, the concept of pre-booking the interview also fits nicely with the way we operate."
