For the second time this year, Dallas-based incentive house Spear One has purchased another well-known incentive travel provider.

On July 9, Spear One announced the purchase of Washington, D.C.-based Corporate Incentive Travel (CIT) , founded in 1986 by Dianne Der Bogosian. Der Bogosian will stay with the new firm, managing strategic clients. Spear One expects other key managers from CIT to remain with the new firm as well, the company said in a release.

In January, Spear One purchased Irving, TX-based Sunbelt Motivation & Travel, an incentive industry leader headed by former Society of Incentive Travel Executives (Site) president Bill Boyd. Spear One focuses on incentive and engagement programs, and meeting management for Fortune 1000 companies.

"Corporate Incentive Travel has an excellent reputation in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, and I’m excited to open a Washington, DC office,” said Mike May, CMP, president of Spear One, in a statement. “The European expertise of Dianne and her team will strengthen our knowledge base and international industry relations.  And, their vertical industry expertise to radio stations, real estate lenders, and technology clients is an attractive complement to ours.”

He added that the merger brings CIT’s clients several new opportunities, including the ability to plan, source and manage merchandise and gift card programs. Spear One also has expertise in creative communications, promotional strategy, and rich event website development that it can bring to clients.

“I am confident our clients will continue to experience an unparalleled commitment to their incentive programs,” said Der Bogosian. “Spear One will undoubtedly offer them even more ways to motivate their target audiences.”
