Recognizing the importance of close partnerships between destination management companies and meeting/incentive planners, 35-year incentive- and luxury-travel veteran Jane Scaletta has launched a new enterprise providing full-service representation services to DMCs around the world, she announced this month.

Called Dolfin Destinations, Scaletta's company will provide sales and marketing services to DMCs that want to reach meeting and incentive professionals, who in turn can use her firm to find and vet a reputable DMC in destinations to which they are taking meetings, events and incentives.

"New technology has helped us in so many ways, but it shouldn't replace a creative and individual service," noted Scaletta, who said that Dolfin Destinations will stand out from its competition by balancing cutting-edge technology with personal service. "I will communicate using all modern channels, including social media, but I will endeavor to deliver a more personalized service in the old-fashioned way," she said. "I believe personalization is what clients value, and that's what Dolfin will deliver."

During her career, Scaletta has worked for a large U.S. DMC, as well as for Caribbean and U.S. destination marketing organizations. She previously was executive director of a Caribbean tourism association and program manager at several incentive travel companies, and once owned and operated a luxury-yacht charter company in the Cayman Islands. Presently, she is 2019 president elect of the Society of Incentive Travel Excellence's Florida & Caribbean Chapter, for which she also is sustainability ambassador.

As president of Dolfin Destinations, based in Orlando, Scaletta said she will showcase "places with personality." Her first client, Rome-based Motivation M.I.C.E. SRL, serves Italy, including Sardinia and Sicily.

"I am looking forward to representing some of the most intriguing and exotic destinations of the world, working with DMCs who share the same passion and expertise in servicing our customers," Scaletta said. "I'm especially excited to partner with DMCs who represent some new emerging markets for the U.S. traveler."
