Incentive planners, mark your calendars: Next Thursday, April 16, the meetings, incentives, conferences, and events (MICE) industry will unite across the United States, Canada, and Mexico to celebrate the first annual North American Meetings Industry Day (NAMID).

A partnership between the Convention Industry Council (CIC) and the Meetings Mean Business (MMB) industry advocacy group, NAMID was announced in December and will bring together industry professionals from the United States, Canada, and Mexico to "showcase the substantial value of meetings, conferences, conventions, incentive travel, trade shows, and exhibitions," according to a news release explaining the initiative.

"We are excited to be involved in such a meaningful day that unites our industry not only across the United States, but also across Canada and Mexico, communicating the critical role in connecting people and driving positive business results through face-to-face interaction," said MMB Co-chair Michael Dominguez, senior vice president of corporate sales at MGM Resorts International. "Across the continent we will demonstrate how meetings build personal relationships, drive positive outcomes, and support strong communities."
