Though still months away, the organizers of IMEX America’s 2013 show are reporting strong demand from new and existing exhibitors, with requests for booth space at an all-time high. Taking place from Oct. 15 through 17 at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas, the event will be taking over an expanded show floor compared to previous years.

The organizers report that 70 booths have been booked so far by returning exhibitors and 30 booths have been secured by new exhibitors, as of Aug. 1. The new exhibitors include a number of U.S. destinations, hotel chains, and technology vendors.

“The demand for the next show is looking very strong and we are pleased to announce further growth in the number and scope of exhibitors for buyers to do business with,” said IMEX group chairman Ray Bloom, in a statement. “We’ve seen a marked rise in demand from new exhibitors and also significant requests for booth increases over the summer. This momentum makes the run-up to the next IMEX America in Las Vegas this October very exciting.”

This year’s new exhibitors include the following event planners and convention bureaus: Baskow & Associates, Charleston CVB, Daytona Beach, Detroit CVB, Exclusive South America, and Fudale Destination Management are new this year. Technology companies such as Double Dutch, Effective Registration Inc, and Attendify will also be first-time exhibitors at the show.

Those companies won’t be the only new technology offerings at this year’s IMEX America. The show will introduce Tech Hub, an area offering hands-on demonstrations and education in new technology programs and products. It will form part of an area on the show floor focused on innovation, including a Technology Pavilion and App Bar.

IMEX America will also introduce a Research Pod on the Inspiration Center. A feature of IMEX in Frankfurt, the new pod will showcase the latest industry research, allowing them to be presented, reviewed, and discussed in a dedicated location.
