This year's IMEX America trade show will be 13 percent larger than last year's, according to its organizer, the IMEX Group, which yesterday reported growth in several of the exhibition's key areas, including:

• Attendance: Both hosted buyers and the number of U.S. and international attendees are expected to exceed last year's levels, according to the IMEX Group.
• International representation: Among exhibitors, U.S. and Canadian representation has increased by 16.5 percent, Latin American representation by 6.5 percent, European representation by 3 percent, and Asia-Pacific representation by nearly 8 percent.
• Sector representation: Hotel groups on the exhibit floor are up 26 percent, private sector companies up 37.5 percent, technology suppliers up 20 percent, and incentive products up 50 percent.

All told, there will be 70 new booths at this year's show, and 83 of the show's previous exhibitors have increased the size of their booths - over half of them by 50 percent.

"The fourth IMEX America is set to offer increased business opportunities for the U.S. and global meetings and events industry," IMEX Group Chairman Ray Bloom said in a statement. "Aside from the confirmed growth in exhibitor numbers and the expanded show floor, we are set to bring in even more hosted buyers and more attendees next week. Anticipation is high and we're looking forward to a packed show with its usual strong focus on business appointments, networking, and, of course, high-quality education."
