IBTM America has unveiled the design for new "meeting pods" that will figure prominently at the show's next edition, taking place June 9-11, 2015, in Chicago, it announced today.

Formerly known as AIBTM, IBTM America was renamed in June, at which point organizer Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) also announced a new format for the show: Formerly a large-scale trade show, the show henceforth will be more intimate, consisting of 250 suppliers who will meet one-on-one with the same number of meeting planners in the privacy of the aforementioned meeting pods, which have been designed specifically to accommodate hosted-buyer appointments.

The pods themselves are designed to be a "hassle-free, turnkey" solution, according to RTE, which is offering the pods to exhibitors for a flat fee.

"Our exclusive design gives both exhibitors and hosted buyers the exclusive environment they need to undertake the business of meetings, which is the focus of IBTM America 2015," IBTM America Event Director Jaime Rosov said in a statement. "The all-inclusive solution is a design that allows for the customization of an exhibitor's corporate branding all done in advance of their arrival onsite. One price, no hassle, and exhibitors arrive fresh to focus 100 percent of their time preparing for the start of their busy schedule, which will include up to 30 appointments over the course of the event."
