Following the news of Christie Hicks' departure from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide in February after 15 years with the organization, the Stamford, CT-based company has announced that Alison Taylor will replace Hicks as senior vice president of Starwood's Sales Organization.
Taylor, a 25-year veteran of Starwood, was most recently head of sales and revenue management in Asia-Pacific for Starwood, and will relocate to the company's headquarters in Stamford, overseeing the company's B2B strategy and leading its sales team of more than 5,000 associates from around the world.
In an email sent to Starwood employees, Starwood CEO Adam Aron wrote: "Alison was the ideal person for this critical role, bringing years of experience leading sales, online marketing and revenue management strategies for our fastest growing array of Asia Pacific hotels and resorts...During a period of unprecedented growth in Asia Pacific over the last 10 years, Alison has developed the Starwood Sales Organization into an industry-leading team. In addition, she has successfully evolved and led the fast-moving digital marketing, revenue management and NBT functions to drive business into our hotels. Alison has a strong proven track record, and is a dynamic and respected leader with tremendous customer focus and strategic sales ability."
Australian-born, London-educated Taylor has worked in six different countries across the Asia-Pacific region, first joining ITT Sheraton 27 years ago. She also worked for Le Méridien in Indonesia, prior to Starwood's acquisition of that hotel brand.

Under Alison's direction, we will continue our focus on selling the way customers want to buy and deploying sales teams and resources to match our customer's fast changing needs."
