The Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) recently unveiled its honorees for the annual Crystal Awards Recognition Program. Announced at the SITE Global Conference held in Rotterdam, Netherlands on Nov. 15, the nine "elite class" winners range from a Grand Cayman getaway to corporate social responsibility in South Africa.

"The SITE Crystal Awards are among the most prestigious recognition in the incentive travel industry," said SITE President Paul Miller, in a statement. "I am honored to congratulate the 2014 SITE Crystal Award winners for creating outstanding incentive programs that deliver powerful business results. To each company, I offer you my heartfelt congratulations."

The awards were given in five different categories. Under Best Business Solutions, Aimia was honored for its Dealership Travel Incentive program developed for Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. The program drove sales with the offer of several top-notch travel awards, including a Hawaiian luau, a Parisian getaway, and a tour through Africa  that included an elephant ride, a visit to Victoria Falls, and a stay in Kruger National Park. The offerings made an impact: 93 percent of dealerships participated, and 73 percent achieved or exceeded sales objectives.

Mfactor Meetings won for Inspiring/Rewarding Experiences with an Italian excursion for a high-tech company. By achieving 110 to 120 percent of their sales goal, the 150 winners of a 2,500-person salesforce enjoyed fine dining, high fashion, and history in Florence and Rome.

In the Distinctive Destination category, Dubai Business Events took home the Crystal Award for its huge program hosted for Nu Skin Enterprises China. Some 14,500 Nu Skin employees participated in one of almost 50 tailored itineraries that took them to local sites, gala dinners, and teambuilding activities. Altogether, the program is estimated to have made an $80 million impact on Dubai's economy.

Dragonfly Africa took home the Responsible Experiences Crystal Award for a South Africa program it created for Frisco, TX-based telecommunications firm Genband. Winners interacted with cheetahs, attended a gala dinner, and engaged in plenty of other activities, but also took part in a corporate social responsibility program while there. This involved generating some $7,000 through Facebook for the underprivileged Henna Pre-School in the Kruger National Park area, then seeing the donations put into action with the purchase of furnishings, cutlery, and even shoes for the students.

Five winners were announced under the Exceptional Motivation Travel Program. These consisted of AV Business & Communications' "Pasaporet BIC"; China Star Ltd.'s "An Event Motivating Two Nations"; Crystal Events & Incentives' "Victoria Falls, Livingstone Zambia"; PR Incentives DMC in Italy's "YPO Intercontinental Chapter, Sicily 2013"; and Fourth Wall Events' "Starry Night."
