This year’s Incentive Marketing Association's (IMA) Executive Summit will focus on the value and best practices of using technology for consumer incentive programs. Jason Atkins, CEO and founder of rewards and recognition company 360incentives, will be delivering the keynote address “Connect Through Technology,” which will discuss how technology can boost customer lifetime value and drive positive word of mouth.

Held in Denver, CO from July 28-30, the summit offers leaders of the incentive industry the opportunity to gather and discuss trends and strategic concerns in the industry. Atkins' session in the morning on Tuesday, July 30, will look at how the latest changes in social media, software, and cloud computing can be leveraged to strengthen an organization’s connection to its customer.

“We’re dealing with incentives and promotions where the consumer experience can be widely shared through the social world,” says Christina O’Reilly, director of marketing for 360incentives. “You really need to use technology to help that positive consumer experience be heard.”

O’Reilly added that focusing on the customer lifetime value will be another important element of the discussion, looking at how technology and social media should be leveraged to strengthen customer loyalty.

“It costs five to ten times more to acquire a new customer than to keep an existing one,” she says. “It’s really important to impact the influential players in the sales channel, reinforcing positive behavior.”

The summit will also include an interactive panel discussion with technology and incentive program experts. In addition to Atkins, the panel will include Mike Arvelo of Vernalis Systems, Beau Ballin of MotivAction, Greg Greunke of Think Smart, Dave Pellissier of Hinda Incentives, and Tyler Roye of eGifter.  

The audience will use Atkins’ presentation as a starting point to then identify challenges that they face in implementing technology for their consumer engagement efforts. The panel will discuss these issues and offer specific suggestions to help overcome these obstacles.
