The Motivation Show and the Incentive Marketing Association (IMA) have joined forces to produce a new incentive industry trade show that will co-locate with the with the Promotional Products Association International (PPAI) Expo’s increasingly popular brand. pavilion

The new Motivation Show Las Vegas will be sponsored by the IMA and share an exhibit hall with PPAI’s brand. pavilion, which features incentive-quality merchandise. The brand. pavilion was created as part of PPAI’s effort to bring promotional products distributors into the business.

The Motivation Show Las Vegas will also have a conference program open to all users and resellers of incentive and recognition products and services. The first joint show will take place on January 15-17, 2014, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

“The launch of The Motivation Show Las Vegas represents the results of an ongoing collaborative effort between the IMA and PPAI,” said Dave Peer, president of the IMA and of Chicago-based Hinda Incentives, in a statement this morning. “As leading organizations for our industry, we recognize that our combined efforts will produce a valuable showcase and education event for our market. Together we are all stronger and more effective.”

The Motivation Show Chicago will continue to exist, but at a different time and in a new, smaller format without a separate travel pavilion, as many of those exhibitors have decamped to the new hosted-buyer shows IMEX America and AIBTM. The Motivation Show Chicago will go on as planned this year, but the show scheduled for 2013 will move to a new date, May 6-8, 2014. It will continue to feature an incentive and recognition industry conference program (on May 6), along with an exhibit hall of the leading brand name merchandise, gift card, and experiential reward suppliers (on May 7 and 8). It will feature an experiential award pavilion with travel  and travel-related exhibitors such as river cruise provider Luftner Cruises, the PGA Tour Club, and Exotics Racing School.

“We are honored to combine forces with the IMA to fully realize the potential of incentive and recognition products’ strengths in the industry,” said Paul Bellantone, president and CEO of the PPAI, in a statement. “This strategic alliance will provide access and exposure to new markets in new ways, while delivering greater value to our members. By combining PPAI’s brand. and The Motivation Show Las Vegas in one location, we have achieved another goal in fully realizing our vision to significantly enhance the show experience.”

Pete Erickson, managing director of The Motivation Show, says, “We’re very excited about this opportunity to co-locate a new event with PPAI’s highly successful brand. We’re anxious to provide the distributor community with an opportunity to learn more about how incentives can help them expand their product offering and capture new corporate business.”

He adds that the new show represents, “a great opportunity for our community of incentive end-buyers and resellers in the Western states to have access to education, exhibits, and networking that has previously only been available in Chicago. We believe this co-location between IMA, The Motivation Show, and PPAI, will be a catalyst to increasing the use of incentive rewards and promotional products throughout corporate America.”

Correction: The date of the Motivation Show Chicago was incorrect in the original article. The new schedule will see the 2013 show moved to May 6-8, 2014. We regret the error.
