Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI) has devised a flashy way attract attention to its tradeshow booth. At the Springtime Expo '14 for the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), the organization will be giving away a one-carat diamond solitaire necklace to one lucky attendee who registers at the group’s booth.

The giveaway has symbolic significance to ALHI. Named the "Mandalay Bay Diamond," the rare stone helps to recognize ALHI member Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, and more broadly celebrates the more than 160 Four- and Five-Diamond quality properties that are part of the association.

"We are giving away this stunning diamond necklace as added incentive for association executives and planners to visit ALHI's 'Luxury Lane' area at the show to find out all that is new within ALHI's impressive Four- and Five-Diamond quality portfolio," said ALHI CEO David Gabri, in a statement. "Mandalay Bay Resort is a true 'gem' of a property, with incredible meeting space and facilities, so it is very appropriate that we highlight this ALHI member with this special giveaway."

He added that it would take just a moment for planners to stop by the association’s "Luxury Lane" area (Booth #2111) and register for a chance to win, while learning about the work ALHI does. The member properties range from boutique hotels to large-scale luxury accommodations like Mandalay Bay, with 3,220 rooms and 1.7 million square feet of meeting and function space. The Springtime Expo, held on May 15 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., will give the association an opportunity to promote its incentive-level properties to planners in attendance. In addition to the tradeshow, the event includes a number of events, including golf and tennis outings, and a vineyard tour in nearby Leesburg, VA. Full details can be found at
