Las Vegas Goes Platinum
March 15, 2006
This summer, a new, all-suite hotel will open in Las Vegas just off the Strip.
The Platinum Hotel and Spa is targeting small-to medium-sized incentive and business groups in its 255 suites with views of the mountains and the Strip.
One and one-half blocks away from the Bellagio, Caesar's Palace and the Sands, as well as the monorail, the Platinum is a condo hotel with all rooms available. What it is not is a gaming property; there is no casino. Instead the Platinum is planning an intimate property with top-flight service and plenty of meeting spaces.
Despite hotel-like design elements raging from a pool and fitness center to a main lobby and gift shop, all units in the 17-story property are fully furnished one- and two-bedroom condos, which means amenities range from 42-inch plasma televisions and high speed Wi-Fi to full kitchens, electric fireplaces and whirlpool baths. All suites have private terraces and are big enough to use for meetings and parties.
There will be a pool and lounge area, with a bar and a restaurant, on the fifth floor terrace, as well as a rooftop terrace and the WELL Spa. There will also be a variety of board and meeting rooms. The Platinum is set to open in June.
