Incentive and Meeting Deals Spotlight: Singapore

Singapore's big new casino resorts --
Resorts World Sentosa, which opened in February, and the
Marina Bay Sands, opening the end of April -- are the hot hospitality news items for the island nation so far this year. However several established properties not part of the new developments are offering meetings and incentive packages that provide good value for groups heading to Singapore in 2010. Here are a few highlights:
Swissotel The Stamford and Fairmont Singapore The adjacent
Swissotel The Stamford and
Fairmont Singapore -- with 2,030 rooms total, giving planners a wide variety of room types and prices -- are conveniently located in the Raffles City complex, which also includes a convention center. Meeting rates start at S$95 (US$68) per person, with a 15-guest minimum. Package includes:
- Two coffee/tea breaks with choice of two snacks per break
- Choice of lunch at any of the hotel’s restaurants
- Flip chart or a white board with markers, writing pad and pencil, iced water, mints
- Complimentary parking coupons, based on 10 percent guaranteed attendance
- Complimentary use of main meeting room (select hours)
- Arrival refreshments including orange juice, coffee, tea and two snacks
- First round of cocktails at either New Asia (Swissotel the Stamford) or Ink Club Bar (Fairmont Singapore). Subject to availability upon confirmation and on a first come, first served basis.

Swissotel Merchant Court, Singapore This 476-room hotel, located near Clarke Quay, Boat Quay and Chinatown, offers a Swiss Business Advantage Room Package with rates that start at S$198 (US$142) per room, per night with daily breakfast and high-speed Internet access.
- Requires a minimum of 10 guestrooms and 10 persons.
The
Swissotel Merchant Court Seminar Package rates start at S$75 (US$54) per person. Package includes:
- Morning coffee break with a choice of three snack items, coffee and tea
- Buffet lunch
- Afternoon coffee break with choice of three snack items, coffee and tea
- Function room setup: personalized room layout, projection screen, two flipcharts or one whiteboard with markers, mints, ice water and writing materials for all participants
- Complimentary parking for up to 20 percent of guaranteed attendance (subject to a maximum of 50 passes per day), place cards for a maximum of 20 attendees, unlimited usage of telephone calls (local calls only), complimentary local newspaper
- Additional perks available for larger meetings

St. Regis Singapore This two-year-old luxury property, located near the newly popular Dempsey Hill area, features an amazing breakfast buffet and Remede Spa. Meetings at the
St. Regis Singapore offer a full-day option with lunch for S$120 (US$85) or without lunch for S$105 (US$75). The package requires a minimum booking of 10 persons and includes:
- Usage of meeting venue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Freshly brewed coffee and tea during the meeting
- Welcome coffee break, mid-morning coffee break and afternoon coffee break with selection of snacks of the day for participants
- A range of menu selections for lunch in the meeting room or the option to dine at one of the hotel restaurants
- Writing materials, bottled mineral water and mints for all participants, LCD projector, a flipchart and a whiteboard
- A rostrum with a microphone, if required
- Car passes for 20 percent of the participants; additional day car parking passes can be arranged at $10 per coupon

Mandarin Oriental Singapore This 527-room property is one of the leading luxury hotels in Singapore. The
Mandarin Oriental Singapore regular full-day meeting package starts at S$105 (US$75) per person, per day with a 25-person minimum, but this deal starts at S$95 (US$68) with a 15-person minimum and includes:
- Complimentary use of main meeting room from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- One buffet lunch at MELT-The World Cafe or Italian set lunch at Dolce Vita
- Two coffee/tea break including two types of snack items
- One whiteboard, one flip chart and one screen
- Markers, writing stationary, mints and mineral water
- Complimentary Marina Square Shopping Centre (MCH) parking for up to 20 percent of the guaranteed meeting attendees
Package valid through December 31, 2010.
Four Seasons Singapore Ideally located near Orchard Road for attendee shopping breaks, the 255-room
Four Seasons Singapore is offering a “Meetings with More” package, to include:
- Complimentary continental breakfast daily
- 10 percent savings on banquet menus
- Complimentary Internet access in guest rooms and general session meeting room
- One complimentary room per 30 room nights occupied
- 25 percent attrition allowance up to seven days ahead of arrival
- 10 percent of event’s actual room revenue will be credited toward the next event at any Four Seasons Hotel worldwide
Package valid for all new bookings reserved by March 31, 2010 and held before October 31, 2010.
